Welcome to The Garden Club of Barrington
Established in 1925, The Garden Club of Barrington’s mission is to stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening among amateurs; to aid in the protection of native plants and birds; and to encourage civic planting.
We fulfill this mission by providing volunteer hours and funding to a wide range of local organizations and projects. In the past, we have opened our flower, horticulture, and photography shows for the public to enjoy. We have also provided educational lectures to the public through our Frances M. Peacock lecture series and support an educational nature program for children in the local District 220 schools. We get into the dirt by maintaining the Ruth and Robert Work Garden at the Barrington Area Library, as well as the Citizens Park Bald Cypress Garden. We also solicit grant requests annually for projects in our community that further our mission.
